MEDIUV is an ultraviolet-air-sterilizer that effectively neutralizes bacteria and viruses by altering DNA and RNA structure. It achieves a 99.9% sterilization rate in a 36-square-meter-room within 55 minutes and has been confirmed effective against the novel-coronavirus, as well as in addressing odors caused by bacteria and pollen. We have transformed the sterilizing power of deep (UV-C) light into a one-of-a-kind art. We aimed to create a design worthy of spaces demanding sophisticated interiors such as hotels and lounges.As specific design choices, we minimized the use of plastic and instead adopted extruded aluminum for the main body. This choice allows us to achieve a modest and refined impression that cannot be attained with plastic, visually expressing the product's high quality. The slits on the body's sides, while serving as a structure for efficiently delivering sterilized air, also function as a powerful design icon.
