Jukka Savolainen has a long history and background in the cultural and design sectors. Savolainen served as the museum director of the Design Museum from 2012 and since then as the founding director and CEO of the AD museum Ltd, which is the new museum organization formed from Design Museum and Museum of Finnish Architecture in 2023. Currently, Savolainen is responsible for the public affairs of the Foundation of the Finnish Architecture and Design Museum. Before his career in the museum industry Savolainen worked in New York at the interface of business field and the cultural and design sectors as Director of Research and Information at Material ConneXion. Jukka is active both in Finland and internationally in various networks and positions of trust, such as the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York and the Finnish Design Information Center, where he serves as chairman of the board. Among international networks Savolainen is part of several awards and research projects globally.
