MUI KINOSHITA is the first female Chairperson of the HKDA Hong Kong Designers Association in 50 years. She also serves as a Board Member of the Hong Kong Design Center, Advisor to the Doctor of Design degree program of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and an Ambassador of the Hong Kong International Conference. Chairperson Mui is the co-founder of Venture Design, Earth Element New Materials and ASA Dynasty Creations Ltd. She has been awarded several scholarships to study design in the UK, Finland and Italy, and graduated with a First Class Honors Master of Design from the Domus Academy in Milan with over 20 years of experience in product, brand and strategy design. Her designs are sold globally, including the MOMA Museum of Modern Art and several museum stores. Her work has also been featured in The New York Times and several international media outlets, and she has won several international design awards, including the iF Design Gold Award, the Red Dot Design Award, the GDA Global Design Gold Award, the Perspective Design Award, the Designer of the Year at the DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Awards, and the Top Young Design Talent of Asia 40under40, among others. She has served as a jury member for several international awards, including the Dyson Dyson Design Award, BDA Brand Design Award, VMark Vietnam Design Award, and China Straits Cup. In terms of design and technology achievements, she won the Peninsula Hotels Kaleidoscope Lab Global Grand Champion, HSBC Innovation Awards, China Mobile Venture Awards, Alibaba Jumpstarter Global Best Startup and Most Popular Startup, among more than 600 startups worldwide.Under her leadership, HKDA has launched several reinvention initiatives in her past tenure, including events and publications to celebrate HKDA's 50th anniversary, the DesignMatch design-to-business matching platform, and the successful BDA Brand Awards and Hong Kong Design Summit (one of the largest design events in Hong Kong). These events have attracted participation from brands across the Asia-Pacific region, fostered collaboration between designers and business organizations, and laid a promising foundation for the association's future.
