Luo Shijian

Dr. LUO Shijian, born in May 1974, is a professor at Department of Industrial Design, College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University. He got his bachelor degree and master degree at Hunan University, and PH. D degree at Zhejiang University.
He studied at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, Finland from 2008 to 2009 as a Visiting Scholar, the supervisor is Prof. Pekka Korvenmaa. From 2002 to 2003, he studied at Design Technology Research Centre, School of Design, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a Research Assistant (RA) and joint PH.D candidate.
He has finished more than 20 projects such as the National 863 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the National Science and Technology Support Project, et al. He has won 2 provincial-level scientific and technological progress awards. He has published more than 100 SCI/SSCI/EI indexed papers and more than 10 books, obtained more than 100 software copyrights and design patents. He has won more than 20 world famous design awards, such as Red Dot, IF, IDEA, et al.
LUO Shijian set up three multi-discipline education directions as “product art design+user experience design+information product design” at Department of Industrial Design. He led the construction of user experience design and information product design directions. In direction user experience design, the courses include information design, human-computer interface design, user experience and product innovation design, design test and software engineering. In direction information product design, the courses include information product design I, information product design II, integration and innovation design I, and integration and innovation design II.
He has professional experience on User Experience and Product Innovation Design, Service Design, Computer-Aided Industrial Design. The course named User Experience and Product Innovation Design was granted as the National Excellent Course by the Ministry of Education of China in 2010, in which some content come from the collaboration with Nokia, HP, Fujitsu, Fuji, Alibaba, Huawei, Netease, Baidu, Midea et al. It can provide a reference for education and industry. In 2013, this course was granted as the Excellent Resource Sharing Course by the Ministry of Education of China.
