On the afternoon of July 17, “Art and Life”-- The Second Outstanding Art Design Exhibition & 2019 DIA Exhibition which is hotter than scorching summer received its grand opening in Zhejiang Exhibition Hall. Many viewers found it’s not only futuristic but also very close to life.

Mr Zhao Yanjun pointed out that Zhejiang Federation of Literature and Art Circles, with Zhejiang Exhibition Hall as its window, together with China Academy of Art, co-organized “Art and Life”-- The Second Outstanding Art Design Exhibition & 2019 DIA Exhibition . By doing so, we aim to provide a large platform for excellent industrial design works, and also provide the audience and manufacturing enterprises the opportunities to understand excellent works as well as observe and collabore with each other. The exhibition also intended to build a bridge for achieving excellent design works tinto products and commodities, manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading.

Mr. Song Jianming said that Design Intelligence Award keeps holding the core concept and value of “Intelligence of Humanity, Wisdom of Life, Fusion of Tech & Art, Brain of Industry”. DIA focus on the humanistic concern for creating a better world and build a first-class international industrial design award. It has always born this initial thought in mind, and is committed to building a high-quality collaboration platform for excellent design talents and practitioners. As the only international intelligence design award in China, DIA aims to commend excellent design at home and abroad, to draw the attention of the society towards China’s design industry, and to bring China’s intelligence design to the global.

Mr. Wang Yun introduced the efforts made by Design Intelligence Award at international, academic and social levels. He also said that on the basis of inheriting the characteristics of China Academy of Art, DIA used the resources of renowned experts accumulated at home and abroad to back feed teaching. D·WILL lecture was opened in Design Innovation Center, and a long-term “Star Program” opening to university students for DIA volunteers was officially launched this year. Through a series of opportunities, a window was opened for students who love design and yearn for China Academy of Art.

Annual DESIGN INTELLIGENCE AWARD Works Exhibition
“It's a great experience that the seat can swing in all directions.” “I hope to see these Braille flash cards in the market in the next few years.” “If this translating machine can be put in mass production, simultaneous interpreters may lose their jobs.” Xu Jiang, president of China Academy of Art, praised the works after visiting every corner of the exhibition.

It's the largest industrial design exhibition in recent years. The site is 3000 square metres and more than 600 works are included. All the exhibited works are from 2019 Design Intelligence Award. They are presented in different themes according to their categories including Cultural Innovation, Living Wisdom, Industrial eEquipment, Frontier Technology, Digital Interaction and Design Yiwu. It's the combination of physical exhibition, audio-visual observation and interactive experience. It is the most comprehensive DIA works exhibition in this year.

Design “APPROACHMH” Diversified Life
A coat can become “bigger or smaller” to achieve timely warming effect; a common pillow can “wag its tail” once touched; a timing hourglass can form rocky crystalline; a half millimetre hump placed on a traditional foldback clip can ease the pain of fingers from pressing too hard... Those neglected details in daily life are captured and presented by designers, arousing the audience's resonance from time to time.
“In the era of globalization, design serves the community of human destiny, and therefore design should boldly accept social comments.” Wang Yun said that the exhibition should not only present international cutting-edge design works, it should also undertake social responsibilities. From the “Drinkable Book” that won the 2016 DIA Gold Award, to the transducer for hearing-impaired people that won 2017 DIA Silver Award”, DIA continues to commend the design concept with social responsibility and social value.
