2020 Design Intelligence Awards Winners

On the afternoon of October 19, the judging of the 2020 China Design Intelligence Award Finals was successfully completed. After 9 judges' physical inspection, classified selection and strict evaluation of collective decision, the final jury selected 30 excellent works from 325 works that won the total prize of 5 million. That night, all the selected works were awarded the "Industry Group" Gold Award, Silver Award, and Bronze Award, the "Concept Group" Rising Star Award, and the highest honors of the New Design Award at the 2020 China Design Intelligence Award Ceremony. An exclusive title of the robot toy "toio". By combining papercraft created using enclosed worksheets with two motorized toio Core Cubes that can move around, and using a control program, users can build "paper craft creatures" that can move about vigorously and seem to be alive.

DTM-The best lifeguard for home(Spain)

DTM is designed as mysterious pristine looking headphones or earphones, an intelligent device at the service of humanity. This new positioning on the lintel of these partitioning elements that we call door is also vital. The smoke alarm will be more protected and strategically located AGAINST THE RAPID GROWTH OF THE SMOKE MATTRESS THAT IS GENERATED IN ANY FIRE. Our effort has not been directed at optimizing the inefficiencies of current detectors but at analyzing all parameters as a whole and optimizing detectors as a whole. Overcoming obstacles and complex elements such as partitioning (doors), elimination of any installation and increased efficiency, thanks to the duplication of sensors. In short, eradicating practices that create obstacles to security, such as the facility itself, thereby minimizing complexity, with the aim of achieving the highest quality while respecting people and their lives. Studies show that in homes, poor positioning, as well as the lack of control of compartmentalisation translates into failures in the activation and rapid spread of the fire, with very serious consequences. The technical specification we are requesting will allow the industry to move forward in an organized way, since great innovations should not be about good ideas but rather about solving serious problems. Our proposals are not of the "bet on DTM" type, but rather long and sustained commitment and efforts that seek to fundamentally change, as far as possible, the avoidance of victims in house fires and the reduction of damage.  


Scribit(Italy)

Designed by CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati, the award-winning design and innovation firm led by MIT professor Carlo Ratti, Scribit is a write&erase robot that can turn any vertical surface into a low-refresh screen on which to display information from the web, user-generated content and art. Functioning as a "printer for walls", Scribit ushers in a new way of presenting digital content and allows the user to instantly reconfigure and personalize a vertical plane. Following one of the most successful global crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter and Indiegogo in 2018, the vertical plotter totalized over 2.4 million USD. In 2019 Scribit was awarded RedDot for Product design and singled out as one of the 100 best inventions for the year by TIME Magazine.

With its special sensor design and multiple degrees of freedom to control, DoraHand can grasp most objects even in complex scenarios, which not only lowers the costs but also widens its application to research, industry, service and other scenarios.


NeuViz Glory(China)

Mika Tsutai (Japan)

The purpose of this project was to develop new expressions of Spraying Japanese paper. Spraying Japanese Paper is a material which was developed in Japan, and makes it possible to coat anything with Japanese paper by spraying. Pouch, stuffed animals, vessel and vase were produced as a deliverable.

Bionics sound modulation surface(China)
